Rapid Sports Injury healing
When it comes to injuries, there are several nutritional and herbal supplements that can more than halve recovery time. As an example, a placebo controlled trial showed a combination of two very common natural supplements assisted the healing of injuries twice as rapidly as in the placebo control group. This was reported in a 1962 sports medicine journal report.
Another double blind placebo controlled trial conducted on football players found that in the group that was given a natural supplement the playing time lost due to injury was an average of 0.67 days, compared to an average of 2.2 days lost playing time in the placebo group. The incidence of sports injury in both groups, however, was reported to be the same. This was reported in a 1960 sports medicine journal article.
Other reports have demonstrated a variety of supplements to heal bruising more quickly, return normal functioning of joint mobility more rapidly, and allow a more rapid return to play of sportsmen. In addition to the supplements I refer to above, another supplement (which I have not referred to before) has also been shown to reduce healing time after injury by about 50%. Unfortunately I could not find any scientific studies reporting the effect of a combination of these separate nutrients.
My knowledge and experience of treating injuries and natural injury healing extends beyond nutritional supplements and herbs to include several other alternative and complementary medicine techniques as well. This includes the use of technological devices which have been used by several practitioners (which include naturopath, dietitian, nutrition and medical doctors) with a good degree of success in treating injured athletes.
Further to the injury healing treatments I have mentioned previously, some other supplements (which have not been referred to above) have been shown to be neuroprotective to both the brain and spinal cord in cases of traumatic injury. One of these supplements was demonstrated to improve survival rates and a measure of coma in humans after sustaining a severe closed head injury. This was reported in a 1996 U.S. sports medicine journal.
